Overview
Relief IQ is an AI assistance and navigation platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Relief IQ is not a HIPAA-covered entity; see "HIPAA Notice" below.
Information We Collect
- Account information: email, display name, and authentication identifiers.
- Profile and case information: state, ZIP, age range, household, veteran or disability status, insurance status, and the descriptions you write.
- Communications: chat messages, escalation requests, navigator messages, and notes you create.
- Phone & SMS: phone number, call recordings, transcripts, AI-generated call summaries, and SMS message history when you opt in.
- Documents: files you upload to the Document Vault, including extracted text and AI-generated analysis.
- Family & caregiver access: invitee contact details, permission levels, and activity logs.
- Usage data: pages viewed, features used, device, browser, IP address, and cookies.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide and operate the Service, including generating action plans, document summaries, reminders, and resource matches.
- Process and summarize phone calls and SMS conversations using artificial intelligence.
- Send transactional SMS, email, and push notifications you have consented to receive.
- Improve the quality and accuracy of the Service and AI models.
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations.
Consent — SMS Messages
By providing your phone number you expressly consent to receive transactional and informational text messages from Relief IQ. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for assistance. Consent to SMS is not a condition of using the Service.
Consent — Phone Calls and AI Call Summaries
When you request a callback or initiate a voice session, you consent to receive calls from Relief IQ and to have those calls recorded, transcribed, and summarized by AI. Transcripts and summaries are stored in your account and may be used to generate follow-up tasks, action plans, and to improve the Service. Do not share sensitive information you do not want stored.
Consent — Document Processing
When you upload a document, you consent to Relief IQ storing, scanning, parsing, and analyzing the document with AI to extract deadlines, categorize content, and produce plain-language summaries. You represent that you have the right to upload each document.
Consent — Family Access Permissions
When you invite a family member, caregiver, or trusted helper, you consent to sharing the data covered by the permission level you assign (view-only, helper, or manager). You are responsible for managing and revoking that access. Invitees agree to handle your information responsibly, but Relief IQ cannot guarantee the actions of people you invite.
HIPAA Notice
Relief IQ is not a HIPAA-covered entity or business associate. Health, hospital, medication, and disability information you share is not protected by HIPAA. This notice remains in effect unless and until Relief IQ is formally built and operated as a HIPAA-compliant service.
Sharing
We share information only as needed to operate the Service:
- Service providers that host our infrastructure, send SMS, process payments, and provide AI inference, bound by contractual confidentiality obligations.
- Navigators, partners, or providers you choose to contact or escalate to.
- Family members and caregivers you invite, at the permission level you grant.
- Legal compliance when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights and safety.
We do not sell your personal information.
Storage and Security
Data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. We use access controls, row-level security, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure; you provide information at your own risk.
Data Retention
We retain account, case, document, call, and message data for as long as your account is active, and afterward as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements. You may request deletion as described below.
Your Choices and Rights
- Access and correction: view and update profile information in your account.
- Deletion: request deletion of your account and associated data through in-app support.
- SMS opt-out: reply STOP to any message.
- Revoke family access: manage and revoke invitations from your Family dashboard at any time.
- State-specific rights (such as those under California, Virginia, Colorado, or other applicable laws) may give you additional rights; contact us to exercise them.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us so we can remove it.
International Users
The Service is operated in the United States. By using it, you consent to the processing of your information in the United States.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by in-product notice.
